What is a memory?
From the time we were born we have been learning a lot of new things through experience. We get to learn from our past experience, memories. We get to know what to avoid and what to keep. To avoid repeating the same mistakes that inflicted pain on us or people around us and to maintain what had rewarded us. For example, I can still remember my dad bought me a bicycle for passing end of term exams when I was in class one in primary. Memories are reminders that assures us that we are on the right tract and to make the right decisions that we benefit each and every one of us. They show us what we once value and above all it shows who we are.
Scientifically memories are proven to influences our decisions. They teach us to avoid redoing the past mistakes either mentally or physically. For instance, when I was young I used to fall hurting. myself on the knees and hands trying to learn how to ride a bicycle. By falling I engrave the pain and disappointment into our memories and came to know that it is not a good experience. Basically, the more I ride the bicycle I get better and improve because from the previous experience I was cautious enough and I could slow down and balance myself well in order to avoid falling. A t the same time by remembering that balancing the bicycle well will give me a smooth ride I was keen enough to maintain it and by so doing I improved and avoid further injuries.
Memories are most precious because they give more to cherish the past and optimize our decisions in order to minimize any shortcomings we may have to encounter in our lives. Memories lives in our minds to teach us to avoid mistakes and to do what is best for us. no matter how painful memories agree we should refrain from repeating the same mistakes and best do what is good for us.
